What to do in the event of a road traffic accident:
- Don't drive off. Stop, turn your engine off and switch on your hazard lights.
- Ensure no-one is injured, if required call the ambulance & police.
- Take a note of the situation, date, time, location, road conditions and damage to all vehicles involved (take photos or sketch of the scene)
- Share your name and address with everyone involved & make a note of the damage or any injuries caused – you must do this by law.
- Ask for details of any passengers who were in the vehicles
- Ask for Witness details before they disappear
- You will of course have to notify your insurance company of the incident.
