POSITION: ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join the Team at our busy Bodyshop in Birmingham, working with and reporting directly to the Accounts Manager to ensure the smooth running of the department and business.
Experience of the SAGE Accounting system would be preferred, competency in IT and excellent team player skills and the ability to work on your own initiative is required. Training will be provided as required. The role requires you to be discreet, diplomatic, reliable and trustworthy. Training will be provided as required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handling sales invoices, receipts, income and payments
- Performing credit checks on the organisation’s new clients and business partners
- Reconciling bank statements and the general ledger
- Enhancement on site filing and storage by checking/filing and monitoring paperwork, performing administrative duties, including filing, photocopying etc.,
- Calculating and entering expenditures
- Customer query resolution
- Credit Control
- Any other duties as required
The Person, Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in commonly-used general and accounting software packages ideally SAGE
- Competency in IT Skills i.e. Excel, Microsoft Word
- Ability to collaborate with others, but also independently when required
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances
- Excellent customer services skills and experience of customer interaction
- Outstanding maths skills
- Proven record of being punctual and reliable
- Ability to maintain and improve business and client relationships
- Excellent organisational and administration skills
- Work with integrity, honesty and discretion
You will be required to complete a company job application form. A DBS check will also be required.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08.00am - 06.00pm
Saturday 08.00am-12.00pm based on a rota
