Parts Advisor


As a Parts Advisor at our Accident Repair Centre, you will be a crucial link between all departments and our customers. Your role involves sourcing, supplying, and managing parts for vehicles undergoing repairs, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will play a key role in providing excellent customer service while ensuring the timely availability of parts to support the repair operations.


This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for the automotive industry.


Key Responsibilities Include:


  • Parts Sourcing and Supply: Source and supply the correct parts to the workshop for vehicle repairs, ensuring all parts are available when needed to avoid delays in repair processes.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels, reorder parts as necessary, and manage inventory to ensure the availability of high-demand items.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service to both internal and external customers by offering knowledgeable advice, handling enquiries, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Order Processing: Accurately process parts orders for the workshop and retail customers, ensuring all documentation is completed efficiently.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all parts received meet the necessary quality standards and match the specifications required for the repairs.
  • Warranty and Returns: Handle warranty claims and manage the return of faulty or incorrect parts, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed promptly.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with technicians, service advisors, and other departments to ensure that all parts requirements are met and that communication flows smoothly.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the correct handling of parts and materials within the centre.


Experience and Skills:


  • Previous Experience: Experience working as a parts advisor or in a similar role within the automotive industry is preferred, particularly in an accident repair centre or dealership environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of vehicle parts and their applications, with the ability to provide accurate advice and support to all Departments and customers.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of the role, from parts identification to inventory management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Customer Focus: A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service internally and externally, with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
  • IT Proficiency: Comfortable using computer systems for parts management, inventory tracking, and order processing.


Working Hours:

Monday to Friday: 08:00 am - 06.00 pm

Saturday: 08:00 am - 12:00 pm (on a rotational basis)


Salary: Competitive; to be discussed during the interview.

Location: Birmingham

Position Type: Full-Time

Training: Comprehensive training will be provided as needed for the role (subject to terms and conditions).
